Wakiso Hill Women Football Club name squad ahead of new campaign

New FUFA Women Super League side, Wakiso Hill have unveiled nine (9) new players and presented a squad of (30) for the up coming season at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Among the recruited players is former She Makerere and Asubo Gafford central defender Fatumah Nakasumba and midfield sensation Zaitun Namaganda also from Asubo Gafford Ladies; 

Other additions include Teopista Apino(She Corporate), Phoebe Banura(She Corporate), Maureen Kimono(Goldstar WFC), Esther Namaganda( Typo WFC- Gulu), Prossy Nashipond( Kayole Starlets), Bakkitta Amina ( Byaffayo) and Rashidah Nankya ( Lady Doves)

Graduated players

Kumwenda Janat, Anzo Esther, Nalowooza Shadia, Sharifah Nakisuule and Nakato Zam.

The rest of the players, Kasubo Halima, Birabwe Justine, Namata Teddy Nantongo,  Patricia Nayiga, Namuddu Faith, Ndagire Roy, Owrinya Kareem Immaculate, Nanyonjo Jaridah, Namatovu Sarah, Namirimu Faridah, Kisakye Ritah, Namiwanda Slyvia.

During the squad unveiling Namatovu Sarah was named as the team Captain ahead of the new season and she said;

“I’m thrilled to lead our team and promise our fans that we aim to make you all proud.”

“After rigorous preparation and training, we’re confident in securing those 3 points in our opening match.” she  concluded

Away from the players, ‘The Antelopes’ as  nicknamed have also confirmed that Kamya Swaleh will remain the Club’s head coach for the new season.

Hé will be assisted by both Umar Kassajagwe,  Coach Trevor, Mathew Lumu as the Fitness trainer and Eric Kiggundu as Physiotherapist 

The Wakiso side who have been hosting their games in Maya, will now welcome the different visitors to their new home in Kitende after their patnership with the Uganda Premier League giants, Vipers SC.

Apart from the home ground, the team has had more substantial developments since entering a new partnership Vipers SC having unleashed new kits in versions of red, blue and white as the home, away and alternative kit respectively.

The side will kick off their season on Sunday 15th October as they host Makerere University Women Football Club in Kitende.
