Botes Hails Teen Cranes After Successful CECAFA U-17 Title Defence

The Uganda Teen Cranes successfully defended their CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship crown after a commanding 3-0 victory over hosts Tanzania in the final played on Tuesday at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Goals from Justine Ayerango, Brenda Nasaaka and Flavia Yagala guided Uganda to victory as they completed an impressive unbeaten campaign.

Uganda Teen Cranes head coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes praised her players after they successfully defended the regional trophy.

Speaking after the match, a delighted Botes commended her team for their discipline and commitment throughout the tournament.

“I am very happy that the team followed instructions and won all the five matches played in the tournament,” said Botes.

The victory saw Uganda retain the regional title they last won in 2023, with Tanzania finishing runners-up and Kenya taking third place after defeating South Sudan in the bronze medal match.
