Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC booked a semifinal date with CBE after cruising into the last four of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA zonal qualifiers.
The Ugandan champions finished top of Group B with six points after Wednesday’s 8-0 demolition of Djibouti’s FC UJECO at Kigali Pele Stadium in Rwanda.

Jovia Nakagolo and Latifah Nakasi scored twice each, while Agnes Nabukenya, Samalie Nakacwa and Cecilia Apiding were also on target. UJECO defender Nesima Elemo completed the scoring with an own goal.
Kawempe took the lead after 13 minutes when Elemo turned Nakagolo’s cross into her own net.
Nakagolo doubled the advantage in the 20th minute before heading home her second six minutes later from Nakacwa’s cross.
Nakacwa made it 4-0 in the 34th minute, with captain Nabukenya adding another five minutes later with a long-range strike.
Nakasi then tapped home from close range in the 39th minute after Nabukenya’s cutback to give Kawempe a 6-0 lead at halftime.
The Valley Warriors continued to press after the break, with Apiding scoring seven minutes into the second half on her Kawempe debut.
Nakasi completed her brace in the final minute, heading in Aminah Nakato’s cross to complete the rout.
Coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi made four changes to the team that beat defending champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Women FC 1-0 in their opening game, but Kawempe maintained control from the start.
They will now face CBE in the semifinal on Saturday, August 29, with a place in the final at stake.
Kawempe are chasing their first appearance in the final of the CECAFA zonal qualifiers.
