KCCA FC unveils Brian Aheebwa
Thirteen-time UPL champions Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC during their weekly KCCA TV show on Sanyuka TV unveiled forward Brian Aheebwa as their sixth off-season signing ahead of the 2020/21 StarTimes UPL season.
The 22-year old who scored eight league goals last season for Mbarara City FC put pen to paper on a three-year employment contract with the Kasasiro Boys.
He is expected to provide the goals which were hard to come by last season and as well compete with Sadat Anaku for a starting slot in Mike Mutebi’s team.

Murushid Juuko joins Express FC
Former Vipers SC and Victoria University defender Murushid Juuko completed a move to the Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC.
The 26-year old signed a one-year contract with the ‘Mukwano gw’abangi’ amidst interest from last season’s champions Vipers SC and KCCA FC.
He became Wasswa Bbosa’s fourth signing after Godfrey Lwesibawa, Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Charles Busingye, and John Byamukama.
Ali Kimera extends Busoga United’s stay
Despite all uncertainties at the club, Busoga United convinced goalie Ali Kimera to extend his stay at the Jinja based club for another year.
Kimera was part of the Busoga United team that finished fourth with 42 points before the season was abruptly ended because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
FUFA holds consultative meeting with coaches
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) held a successful consultative meeting with the Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League, National teams coaches, and the executive of the Uganda Football Coaches Association.
Many concerns were addressed ranging from how best the game can be improved, the value in self-branding of coaches, and the challenges that the managers face.
FUFA also revealed to the coaches that the Federation will introduce new regulations for the coaches starting next season.
Police FC hands Kabuye a professional contract, renews Matovu’s
Police FC handed Attacking Midfielder Bashir Kabuye his first professional football contract and extended Mubraka Nsubuga’s stay with the Cops for at least the next two years on Monday.
Police FC has so far acquired the services of experienced midfielder Tony Mawejje, Hassan Muhammad, Eric Ssenjobe, and goalkeeper Tom and managed to retain four, including Musa Matovu, Johnson Odong, Dennis Rukundo, and Yusuf Ssozi.

Tom Masiko joins Wakiso giants permanently
Midfielder Tom Masiko made a permanent move to Wakiso Giants on a three-year deal after his contract with Vipers SC expired.
Masiko, who joined Vipers in 2017 was sent out on loan to Wakiso Giants at the beginning of the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL season.
Lions Sports Academy unveils second shirt sponsor
Two months after unveiling SAP General Hardware as their first shirt sponsor, Ntungamo’s Lions Sports Academy on Tuesday unveiled Kyosha Electronics as their second shirt sponsor.
Kyosha Electronics and Lions Sports Academy signed a three-year contract worth 2m per year, and joines SAP General Hardware at the front of the shirt.

Vipers SC finally appoints new CEO
Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC appointed Simon Peter Njuba as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Njuba who is also a teacher at St Mary’s SS Kitende was in charge of Vipers’ IT and Transfer Management system and replaces Peter Lwanga who was relieved of his duties in January this year.
Njuba is expected to help the four-time Uganda Premier League champions improve on its administrative structures.
He beat over eighty applicants to the job including renowned Ivan Kakembo who formerly served at SC Villa and URA FC in the same capacity.
KCCA FC confirms Dudu’s departure
KCCA FC confirmed the departure of club scout and Youth coach Dudu Bosco. Bosco leaves the team after helping them add one of the most promising players into their academy, Oscar Mawa.
The tactician will also be remembered for helping the Kassasiro Boys sign Muhammad Shaban from rivals Onduparaka FC two years ago.
His effort to ensure Mawa was signed by KCCA paid back a great deal as the youngster went ahead and scored 16 goals in the Fufa Junior League last season.

Police signs another Goalkeeper
Uganda Premier League side Police FC acquired the services of 23-year-old goalkeeper Sammon Oloka.
Okola signed a three-year employment contract with the Law enforcers and is expected to fill the void left by the departing Davies Mutebi.
He previously played for FUFA Regional League teams, Lukaya Town Council Football club, and Northern Elephants.
FUFA publishes a list of club owners for first and second division
The list of owners was sourced from the club licensing documents the teams submitted for the 2019/20 season. However, the lists presented may not directly reflect what is with the registrar of companies.
Meddie Kibirige finally moves to SC Villa
Sixteen-time Uganda Premier League champions, SC Villa confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Meddy Kibirige from relegated Tooro United on a two-year contract.
Kibirige will replace the departed Samson Kirya, who was the understudy for Saidi Keni last season.

Police FC adds Muwada Mawejje to squad
Police FC made their intentions more known after adding Muwada Mawejje to their squad ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Muwadda Mawejje who moves from Wakiso Giants, a team he joined from KCCA FC put pen to paper on a two-year contract and became the fifth signing for the Law enforcers who have already signed Tonny Mawejje, Eric Ssenjobe, Hassan Muhamood, and goalkeeper Sammon Oloka.
Sseninde confirms Vipers’ exit
Midfielder Duncan Sseninde on his social media accounts confirmed he had left Vipers SC after a five-year spell at the Kitende-based club.
“First of all, thank you to the wonderful group of fans for the great time and being incredibly supportive over the last five years. And everyone involved at Vipers,” Sseninde tweeted on his Twitter account.
“The managers, coaches, and amazing teammates that I had the pleasure of playing alongside. Sincere thanks to Lawrence Mulindwa for the fatherly support and care. I learned a lot and am proud to have been part of this journey. As I look to pursue other opportunities, I wish everyone at the club a successful future.”
Sseninde joined Vipers from KJT Rwenshama and is rumored to be considering a permanent stay at Wakiso Giants just like Tom Masiko.
Andrew Kiwanuka becomes SC VILLA second signing
After unveiling goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige on Thursday, sixteen-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa unveiled their second off-season signing ahead of the 2019-20 season.
The Jogoos confirmed the signing of former Express FC left-back Andrew Kiwanuka on a free transfer.
Via a short video posted on the SC Villa’s Facebook page, the 26-year said he is excited to join the club.
“I am so glad to join SC Villa, I am excited to join the club and I will try to give the best for the club,” he said in a short video.
Wadada voted Vodacom Premier League’s Best defenders award
The right-back beat off competition from Bakari Mwamnyeto (Coastal Union FC) and Kagera Sugar’s David Luhende to win the accolade.
However, the Uganda Cranes right-back lost the best player of the season award to Zambia and Simba SC star Clautos Chama after being shortlisted amongst the final three.

Peter Tabu is the new Express FC communication manager
Six-time Uganda Premier League champions, Express FC on Saturday appointed renowned sports Journalists Peter Tabu as the club’s new communications manager.
In a letter posted on their Facebook page, Express CEO Isaac Mwesigwa confirmed Tabu’s appointment.
Tabu who works for Radio City, becomes the first communication manager in the history of the Red Eagles.
Janet Museveni flags off Diamond League-bound team
The honorable Minister for Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni on Saturday flagged off four Ugandan Athletes who are set to participate in the 2020 Monaco Diamond League scheduled to take place on 14th August.
The team which includes; Joshua Cheptegei, Halima Nakaayi, Winnie Nanyondo, and Stephen Kissa departed the country on Saturday via a chartered Uganda Airlines flight.
