National Enterprise Corporation Football Club alias NEC FC celebrated their promotion to the Uganda Premier League on Saturday at the Coffee grounds, Bugolobi.

NEC FC was promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after finishing third in the FUFA Big League with 57 points after 30 games played.
The occasion was prepared to reward the club’s players and also celebrate promotion. It was graced by the club’s CEO, Mr. Sakali Rajab Ahmada who elaborated the team’s nickname as the “diehards for success.”

As a club, the best player from each department was awarded with a special accolade and an envelope( for every player).
Midfielder of the season

Gavin Mubutu the assistant captain who showed great discipline displayed throughout
the season.
Winger of the season

Richard Ajuna took his reward home after great offensive contribution with addition of scoring two goals as well as contributing to numerous clean-sheets from left back.
Defender of the Season

Odongo Gideon the Berlin Wall as called by the fans was awarded after a great defensive work contributing to numerous clean- sheets besides appearing in the most games 27 this season.
Striker of the season

This was given to Kiberu Tonny after he scored goals in eight fixtures against six teams
-Completed a double; scoring against 2 teams home and away
-Scored once against 4 teams 4️⃣
-Scored 2 goals in the first round 2️⃣
-Scored 6 goals in the second round
-He scored in 4 consecutive games
Goal of the Season

This was Kavuma Marvin’s goal against Kataka which was a 40 yards screamer after noticing the goal keeper is off the line.
Player of the Season
Kavuma Marvin was given the award after scoring a couple of goal and contributing 14 goals besides numerous assists.
The others winners on the day were Club goal keeper Jeans Braddy Wokorach and Bashir Bugga who was selected as the best fan .

After awarding the winners, Club Patron Lt General James Mugira spoke to the congregation and said;

“Thank you very much for the coverage as celebrate this promotion.” he said
“We have been able to move to this step in the shortest time from the lowest level to the top level.”
“Also it’s a good branding part for the corporation as it helps in the advertising of NEC.“
On the infrastructure, he added and promised that the Club will get another home ground as the team looks forward to getting its standard own.
Just like home he also promised the congregation that the club will get a new bus to help the team travel easily on away match days.
For stakeholders, he concluded by calling upon all stakeholders to give us all the support they can.
