Uganda’s Victoria Pearls have named a 14-player squad for the 2026 Victoria Series, with Australian-based batter Kampi Nainhabo earning her maiden international call-up.
The 23-year-old right-hander, who was born in Uganda before developing her cricket through the Australian pathway, is in line to make her international debut when the tournament gets underway at Entebbe Cricket Oval from November 6 to 14.
Nainhabo has played for South East Bayside Breakers and Melbourne Cricket Club and also went through the Cricket Victoria Female High Performance Academy.
Captain Janet Mbabazi retains the armband, while experienced duo Naume Amongin and Kevin Awino return after missing the Capricorn Series in Namibia.
The squad also includes Stephanie Nampiina, Proscovia Alako, Ritah Musamali, Esther Iloku, Immaculate Nakisuyi, Malisa Ariokot, Sarah Walaza, Consylate Aweko Nimungu, Sarah Akiteng and Asumin Akurut.
Phiona Egaru Kulume and Lorna Anyait have been named as reserves.
Uganda head into the tournament with confidence after winning the 2025 Victoria Series with a clean 5-0 sweep against Canada. The Pearls will face Namibia, Rwanda and the USA in this year’s edition, with the tournament also forming part of their preparations for the 2027 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier.
Uganda opens its campaign against Namibia on November 6 before facing Rwanda and the USA.
The Pearls will then meet the same opponents again during the second round before the top two sides contest the final on November 14. The third- and fourth-placed teams will meet in the playoff.
