UFL: YMCA defeats IUIU

YMCA registered their first win of this year’s campaign when they beat Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) at their Buwambo Campus on Thursday evening.

YMCA won the game with a 2-0 scoreline thanks to well spread goals from Kiwanuka Pablo and Kigenyi Benon Vianey each scored in different halves of the game.

Kalyesubula Micheal was a happy man on the evening as he sighted his charges play beautiful football that treated his students to a joyous afternoon.

Kiwanuka Pablo opened the scoring with a well taken free kick in the 35th minute only to hand YMCA a halftime lead.

In the second stanza, IUIU came back in a lively mode creating a couple of chances through Tamubula Ismail and Onongo. However, the Buwambo side caught the visitors on break and Kigenyi Benon Vianey doubled the lead for the hosts in the last minute to help them bag a 2-0 win.

In their next games, IUIU will host MUBS while YMCA will MUBS and at home.

On Saturday, we will see Muni University hosting Makerere University in Arua.
