Alex Isabirye named Technical director at UPL side


Former Vipers and BUL FC head coach, Alex Isabirye Musongola, has been appointed Technical Director at Jinja based side Gaddafi FC.

After a period of four months without a job, Isabirye takes the role on a one year contract with hope that he can save the situation at the Club.

In a press release from Gaddafi FC shared on their Official X (formerly Twitter) platform on Thursday evening, the club confirmed that there will no jobs lost for the current head coach David Mutono.

Under David Mutono, Gaddafi are 12th on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table after 5 games with 1 (against Arua Hill) win and 4 losses (0-1 Busoga United, 1-2 Kitara FC, 2-0 URA FC and 1-2 Vipers.

Isabirye as a head coach in recent years has won the Uganda Premier League for Vipers and Uganda Cups Vipers, URA FC and BUL FC.

Alex Isabirye, left Vipers at the start of July after he fell out with his former bosses over unconfirmed reasons. However, we can confirm that the former Villa striker was involved in an accident before being summoned by Vipers leadership for absconding from duty.
