Nyamityobora FC Patron Ali Ssekatawa has resigned from his role at the StarTimes FUFA Big league side.

This is due to what Ssekatawa calls “Cancer of Sports betting and Match fixing that has gone on unabated in Uganda Football”

” Even the lion, the king of the Forrest protects itself from the flies. To protect my reputation, I hereby step aside as Patron” Ssekatawa revealed to the Nyamityobora Football Club fans in a letter.

“This is due to the cancer of sports betting and match fixing that has gone on unabated in our football, including in the Big league” he added.

The Renowned top lawyer and football administrator who has been with Nyamityobora since he left his chairmanship role at URA in 2017 has also vowed to continue to support the club and says he will return at an appropriate time.

Ssekatawa leaves Nyamitobora second bottom with 7 points garnered in 9 games in the FUFA Big League.

They have endured to play those 9 games without a coach on the bench, with only Anitah Nayebare as the team doctor.
