Stanbic Uganda Cup: Kitara eliminates SC Villa in Masindi.

In a clash of two Uganda Premier League teams at the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16, Kitara FC eliminated SC Villa 2-0 in Masindi on a Sunday evening.

Frank Zaga Tumwesige and Paul Mucureezi emerged as heroes on the day, scoring two late goals that knocked out SC Villa from the Cup’s fiftieth edition.

The Joogos’ journey in this edition ends here after eliminating Tawaii FC and Synergy in the previous rounds.

On the otherside of the Royals, they have now eliminated Nebbi central, Gaddafi and SC Villa to reach the quarter finals.

Kitara joins BUL and Pajule Lions in the quarter finals who eliminated Express and Young Simba fc respectively.

The table leaders of the League will now shift their focus to their next game when they play Maroons at Luzira on 8th March while SC Villa will take on Express in the Wankulukuku derby on 9th March.

Other fixtures in the Cup will see defending champions, Vipers host Iganga Young, Busoga United welcome NEC, Bright stars embrace Maroons while KCCA pay courtsey visit to URA

For Dove FC, they will host Pakwach Young Stars.

Express FC and KCCA FC are the most successful clubs in the stanbic Uganda cup, each winning on 10 occasions.
