SC Villa head coach Zeljko Kovacevic knows his side will have to be at their best when they take on BUL FC in Tuesday’s Uganda Premier League encounter in Njeru.
Kovacevic is expecting a difficult afternoon against a side that gave Villa problems last season. The Jogoos failed to collect a single point from their two meetings with BUL and the coach is keen to see a different outcome this time.
“BUL FC are a good team, and they were the only side we failed to get points against last season, so we know we have to prepare well for this game,” Kovacevic said.
The Villa coach is also aware of the quality in the BUL squad, particularly goalkeeper Wokorach and defender Kibande, who both featured for the Jogoos last season. He also expects a tough challenge from BUL’s experienced coach.
Villa head into the game in good spirits following their away victory over Lugazi FC and will be hoping to build on that result.
Kovacevic has almost his entire squad available, with midfielder Aslam Semakula the only confirmed absentee after accumulating yellow cards.
“The rest of the squad is available, and we are ready to fight for the three points,” he said, while urging Villa supporters to turn up in big numbers and support the team.
Young left-back Gilbert Ogenrowt is also looking forward to the challenge, describing the game as a valuable opportunity for young players to test themselves against strong opposition.
With BUL having proved a difficult opponent in the past, Kovacevic will be hoping his players can respond on the pitch and return from Njeru with a positive result.
