Stanbic Uganda Cup: Kitara edge Pajule Lions in the first leg semi finals

In the Masindi stadium, Kitara put themselves one step into the finals after defeating Pajule Lions 3-1 in the first leg of the semi finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Solomon Okwalinga capitalized on the round from the goalkeeper to put the home side in the lead in the 33rd minute of the clock.

Denis Omedi doubled the lead when he headed Eric Muber’s long cross into the goal in the 61st minute.

Martin Wocrach’s shot from outside the box assisted by Komakech pulled one for the visitors in the 70th minute.

Four minutes into the final whistle, Frank Tumwesige Zaga tapped the ball into the back of the net from Denis Omedi’s cross.

Brian Sseyondo’s side defeated fellow top flight teams, Gadafi, SC Villa and Vipers to reach the semi finals.

The northern Uganda side knocked out Nsambya, Young Simba and Pakwach Young Stars to make it to the final four teams.

The second leg of the semi finals will be played on the 4th and 5th of next month where The Royals will have to travel to Paider district in northern Uganda.

Vipers whose journey was ended by Kitara are the defending champions of this tournament after winning Police FC in the Akii Bua stadium in Lira.
