Kitara, Mogadishu City to Clash Twice in Hoima

Kitara FC will play both matches of their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie against Mogadishu City FC at Hoima City Stadium.

The two sides were drawn to meet over two legs, with Mogadishu City initially handed home advantage in the opening match. However, the Somali club does not have a stadium that meets CAF requirements and has therefore opted to use Hoima City Stadium for the first leg.

The first meeting will be played on Saturday, September 5, at 4pm, before the teams meet again at the same venue a week later on September 12.

While Mogadishu City will be the home side for the first game, Kitara will have the benefit of playing both matches at a stadium they know well.

Hoima City Stadium is also set to host its first CAF inter-club fixture involving a Ugandan team and an opponent from outside the country, adding significance to the two-match tie.

Kitara will be looking to use the familiar surroundings to secure progress to the second preliminary round.

The winner over the two legs will face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the next round.

Tickets for the first leg will go on sale on Monday, August 17.

Ordinary tickets will cost UGX 20,000, while VIP tickets will be available for UGX 50,000.

Fans can buy tickets online, at Kitara FC offices in Hoima town and Kinubi, or from the club’s branded mobile ticketing van.
