Review: MYDA dream continues as Ndejje reclaim top spot


Startimes FUFA Big league matchday 9 had a number of games played on Thursday evening.

In the Elgon group, Big league surprise package MYDA FC continued their unbelievable league form after forcing a 1-all stalemate away from home against Bukedea TC at Amuria High School Playground.

On Form talisman, Siu Michael opened the scoreline for the Bukedea side from the spot before Nsimbe Ibra equalised for the visitors at the death of the game.

MYDA FC has now finished the first round as Elgon group leaders, having collected 16 points in 8 games while Bukedea TC is 3rd with 12 points.

Second-placed Kiboga Young’s visit to Masindi ended in also a 1-all draw against Saviours FC in the match that was played at Katusabe Dove Stadium.

Halidi Moses’ second-half strike was enough to neutralise Sammary Ramadan’s first-half early goal for Saviours FC.

In Zombo, A late Dickens Okwir own goal meant points had to be shared as Paidha Black drew 1-1 at home against Doves All-Stars.

Floribet Pithu scored black’s opener mid-way the second half.

In the Rwenzori group, Ndejje University reclaimed top spot courtesy of a dramatic 3-2 home win against Struggling Kansai Plascon.

Richard Asaba Opened up the scoring for the University side in the 13th minute before Sula Tumusiime doubled the scoreline before halftime.

Early in the second half, Kansai Plascon pulled a goal back before Brain Ssali’s strike restored the 2 goals lead for Ndejje University.

Kansai Plascon ‘never-give-up’ attitude propelled them to a second goal before fulltime.

Ndejje tops the Rwenzori group after the first round with 18 points in 8 games while Kansai Plascon is 6th with 7 points collected in 8 games.

In Kabale, Kigezi homeboys recorded their 4th win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Nyamityobora FC.

Cleophas Fiat gave the Kabale side the lead before Joseph Akandwanaho levelled matters for Nyamityobora FC. Before the end of the game, Dickson Niwanya gave Kigezi homeboys the game lead off a well-worked Farouk Samari cross.
