Police FC were crowned 2023/24 Betpawa big league champions at the Mbale Municipal stadium.
Through Isaac Ogwang, Police fc defeated Kataka FC 1-0 in Mbale to lift the trophy at 56 points, 3 above second placed Lugazi FC.
Despite picking up a win, the cops only needed a draw against the Mbale side to be declared champions.
Simon Peter Mugerwa coached side registered sixteen wins, eight wins and three loses on their way to the league victory.
Police fc, Lugazi FC and Mbale Heroes had already earned their promotion to the star Times Uganda premier league before the final match day.
On the other side,Kyetume FC, Young Elephants, Jinja North and Ndejje university are the four teams that got relegated to the regional league.
Ndejje university fc pulled out of the league after the first round where they gathered only ten points.
In a crowning ceremony witnessed by FUFA executive members, Rogers Mulimdwa and Hassan Kirunda, Police fc’s Denis Kalanzi was awarded the MVP accolade, Young Elephants received the fair play award.
With twelve clean sheets, Lugazi FC’s Fahad Emuran received the golden glove while Dickson Niwamanya of Booma FC received the golden boot with sixteen goals.
