Uganda have secured their place in the 2027 Africa Regional Final after a dominant 10-wicket victory over Mozambique in Abuja on Saturday.

The Cricket Cranes needed just five balls to wrap up the chase after Mozambique were bowled out for only 19 runs in 7.2 overs.

Juma Miyagi did most of the damage with the ball, taking five wickets for seven runs from his four overs as Uganda’s attack gave Mozambique no room to settle.

Enock Kasaija also had a day to remember, picking up four wickets for just four runs, while Alpesh Ramjani took the other wicket.

Mozambique never recovered after losing early wickets. Their batting order collapsed quickly, with Joao Hou and Lourenco Salomone managing only four runs each as the top scorers.

Uganda’s chase was little more than a formality.

Robinson Obuya came out swinging, smashing 16 off just three balls, including two sixes and a four. Raghav Dhawan added seven from two deliveries, including a six, as Uganda reached 23 without losing a wicket.

The result was enough to confirm Uganda’s place in the 2027 Africa Regional Final, keeping their hopes of reaching the next T20 World Cup stage firmly alive.

For Miyagi, it was a performance to remember. His five-wicket haul earned him the Player of the Match award and underlined Uganda’s dominance with the ball.

The Cricket Cranes are not done in Abuja yet. They will face hosts Nigeria on Sunday, October 25, in their final round-robin game. With qualification already secured, Uganda will be looking to finish the campaign on a high and carry the same momentum into the Regional Final.
