FWSL: Nandago strike takes Kawempe three points clear


Kawempe Muslim Ladies Football Club wrapped up the FUFA Women Super League’s matchday 12 with a 1-0 win against She Maroons FC at the Kawempe Muslim Play Ground on Wednesday evening.

The home side edged the Prison side extend their lead at the top of the table to three points over second-placed Kampala Queens FC.

Hadijah Nandago scored the only goal on the day in the 73rd minute capitalizing on a long ball from Samalie Nakacwa.

She beautifully looped the She Maroons goalkeeper Akujo Esther to put the hosts in the lead.

With an unbeaten run so far, this win comes with Kawempe’s ninth clean sheet of the season.

It takes their points tally to 27 three more than second placed Kampala Queens who drew their game 1-1 against UCU Lady Cardinals

For She Maroons, they stay in third position with 16 points.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will travel to face Makerere FC on Saturday, April 6th, 2024.

For She Maroons, they will host Lady Doves on the same day.
