Table leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies staged a dramatic late comeback to defeat Amus College 2-1 in a FUFA Women Super League clash played in Bukedea on Saturday.
Amus made a bright start and took an early lead through Doreen Aujat, who struck just five minutes into the game after racing through on goal to beat goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje. The hosts held onto their advantage to go into halftime in front.
Kawempe, however, showed resilience in the closing stages. Jovia Nakagolo levelled in the 84th minute, capitalising on a goalkeeping error by Elizabeth Atieno. The forward then completed the turnaround deep in stoppage time, tapping home from Samalie Nakacwa’s quick free-kick to seal all three points.
The victory keeps Kawempe Muslim top of the table with 39 points from 16 matches, ahead of She Corporate, who edged Makerere University WFC 2-1. Elsewhere, Kampala Queens beat Uganda Martyrs WFC 2-0.
