Kawempe Muslim Ladies have been handed a challenging group on their historic CAF Women’s Champions League debut after being drawn alongside defending champions AS FAR of Morocco.

The Ugandan champions were placed in Group B during Tuesday’s draw held in Cairo, Egypt, where they were also paired with Mali’s USFAS Bamako and the eventual winner of the WAFU B qualifiers.

Kawempe will head to the continental showpiece carrying Uganda’s flag after securing qualification through the CECAFA zonal tournament.

The Valley Warriors emerged champions of the regional qualifiers to claim CECAFA’s sole ticket to the finals, becoming the first Ugandan club to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament.

Their reward is a stern test against some of the continent’s established sides, headlined by reigning champions AS FAR.

The Moroccan giants will enter the tournament looking to successfully defend their continental crown, while USFAS Bamako will provide another hurdle for the Ugandan debutants.

The identity of the fourth team in Group B will be confirmed following the conclusion of the WAFU B qualifiers.

Meanwhile, hosts FC Masar of Egypt headline Group A, where they will face South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, Morocco’s FUS Rabat and Cameroon’s Lekie FC.

The 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League is scheduled to run from November 1 to 15 in Cairo, Egypt.

For Kawempe Muslim, the tournament represents another landmark moment after their successful regional campaign and offers the Valley Warriors an opportunity to test themselves against Africa’s best on the continental stage.
