FUFA WSL: Kampala Queens humiliate new comers Asubo Gafford

Kampala Queens dismantle new League entrants Asubo Gafford Ladies in their first game of the 2022/23 FUFA Women football league at IUIU, Kabojja on Sunday

The last campaign’s runners up conquered the game 5-0 on matchday one with goals from five different players in Sumaya Komuntale, Shamirah Nalugya, Resty Nanziri, Margaret Kunihira and Lilian Mutuuzo.

The Queens were the dominant team from the first minute with new signing and left back Sumaya Komuntale scoring a worldie through a free kick something that she is well vast with.

The Kabojja side continued to  attack as they were on the front foot strike another goal coming in the 34th minute courtesy of decorated Queens midfielder Shamirah Nalugya.

In a first half that was dominated by the home side, the score board stayed 2-0 at half time in favour of the Queens but looked like the party had just started.

The second stanza, it didn’t seem like the Palace residents were putting away their scoring boots as forward Resty Nanziri came back to strike seven minutes into the half.

Five minutes later, Kunihira and substitute Lillian Mutuuzo sealed the win scoring both the fourth and fifth respectively in a space of seven minutes.

Kampala Queens finished the game with a 5-0 scoreline in their favour. The weekend ends with the Queens on top of the Log on goal difference.

In the other two games Uganda Martyrs Women Football Club, Lubaga silenced Rines SS Women Football Club 2-0 in what was a very hard contest for both sides.

But on the day, it was lifted by Uganda Martyrs shot stopper Sharon Kaidu and attacking midfielder Sumaya Naluma who was involved in both goals.

The Lubaga side’s goals came in from Kevin Nakacwa who scored from the spot in the 15th minute after a foul on Captain Catherine Nagadya and U17 national team player Brenda Munyana in the 41st minute after a good through ball from Sumaya Nalumu.
