CECAFA19: Kenya edges Tanzania 1-0 in the EA derby


Kenya has defeated Tanzania 1-0 today at Startimes Stadium Lugogo in match number 4 of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

The Harambee stars got into the lead when Hassan Abdallah struck from a Kenneth Muguna shot pass in the 4th minute of the game.

Oscar Wamalwa came close to adding another goal for Kenya but failed to convert Hassan’s low cross in the 58th minute.

Tanzania pushed for a late equalizer in the 85th minute but Ditram Nchimbi’s chip shot went wide.

In the First game, Sudan and Zanzibar played to a 1-all draw.

Kenya now leads the Group B table with three points, with Sudan in the second place.

The Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup will return to action tomorrow with Burundi playing Eritrea in the lunch time kickoff while Uganda will play Somalia later in the evening.
