Bevis Mugabi: Ugandan defender extends Motherwell’s contract

Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi has extended his contract with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC for a further 

The 25-year old defender’s contract was set to expire at the end of this season but will now be with the Wells until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Since joining Motherwell in September 2019, Mugabi has gone on to garner 35 appearances for Fir Park side

Manager  Graham Alexander says he is delighted that Mugabi has decided to  extend his stay at the club.

We’re delighted Bevis has agreed to extend his stay with us at Motherwell,” manager Graham Alexander said.

“We’ve been really impressed with his contribution since January, both on and off the pitch.

“We can also see the potential for him to get better and continue to help the team achieve future success.”

This season with Motherwell, Mugabi has featured in 21 games and found the back of net twice including a record breaking goal he netted against Ross County in January when he jumped 262cm, with a leap of 75cm to break a Cristiano Ronaldo record.

With the Uganda Cranes, Mugabi is capped 10 times and was a key figure in the Cranes’ team that participates at the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt
