We are all ready to put out a remarkable performance – Kawempe Muslim Ladies Captain

Kawempe Muslim SS Ladies FC was flagged off on Wednesday morning at the School premises in Kawempe.

The 2023/24 FUFA Women Super league champions are going to represent Uganda in the CECAFA Zonal CAF Women Champions League, the championship in Ethiopia starting 17th August.

Kawempe Muslim were placed in Group B with Tanzanian Giants Simba Queens, PVP Buyenzi and FAD FC from Djibouti.

The other group A has hosts CBE FC from Ethiopia, Yei Joint Stars FC (South Sudan), Kenya Police Bullets FC, Warriors Queens FC from Zanzibar and Rwanda’s Rayon Sport WFC.

During the flag off Club Captain Phiona Nabulime went on to say that if the group’s talents and skills are joined together the trophy will be brought back home;

“We are strong and determined. When we joined camp, there has been a great input and we are all ready to put out a remarkable performance.” She said

“We have unique talents and skills and if all embedded together we shall match home winners”. Nabulime concluded

Kawempe Muslim was flagged off with a contingent of 25 people composed of 20 players and five officials;

Kawempe Muslim will begin their journey against PVP Buyenzi on 18th August, before taking on Simba Queens FC on 21st August and FAD FC three days later.

Kawempe Muslim SS Ladies FC are the fourth club to represent Uganda at the championship after Lady Doves, She Corporate and Kampala Queens.

The winner of the Championship will represent the CECAFA region in the CAF Women Champions League.
