CECAFA CWCLQ: Kawempe Muslim storm semifinal in style

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC stormed the CECAFA Zonal qualifiers for the 2024/25 CAF Women’s Champions League in style.

With two wins and a loss in three games Kawempe Muslim to manage 6 points, the latest being a 10-0 destruction against Djibouti side FAD FC at Abebe Bikila Stadium, Addis Ababa on Friday morning.

Into the game;

Shadia Nabirye sent Kawempe in an early 11th minute before Hadijah Nandago doubled the lead ten minutes later.

Nandago completed her brace in the 34th minute as the score turned 3-0. In the 45th minute, Nabirye also finished her brace extending Kawempe’s lead to 4-0.

Later on she (Nandago) netted a second half hat trick in the 51st – penalty, 68th, and 80th minute taking her tally to five goals on the day.

Halima Kampi, Rebecca Nakato, and Mary Kabacurezi were the other names on target in the 53rd, 56th, and 85th minute, each.

Ayub Khalifa’s side are now at the top of Group B, level on six points with Simba Queens but with a better goal difference.

However the Tanzania giants Simba Queens have a game in hand where they will take on PVP Buyenzi from Burundi in the afternoon ahead of the semifinal match ups.
