Pool Uganda Captain, Alfred Gumikiriza has cried out to the government of Uganda and other stakeholders of the game to offer support to Ugandan pool players through the current coronavirus crisis.
I want to thank the government of Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni and the Ministry of health for their continued efforts and measures imposed to curb the Corona virus pandemic.
He stated in his call before getting his point home.

As the Pools National team captain, I cry out to the government, Ministry of sports and the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) to avail us with support in terms of Food and other basic necessities. We have been away from work for 3 weeks now and we have families to take care of.
He said.
Pool is played in bars and those bars have been closed for a while now, so we don’t have money and food to take care of ourselves and feed our families.
He added.
The Senior and Ladies’ Pool Leagues were suspended on 20th March following the President’s directive to ban all sporting activities for 30 days.
