Uganda’s Swimmers to Dive into Africa Aquatics Open Water Swimming Training Camp in Zanzibar

The Uganda Swimming Federation has announced a team of four swimmers who will represent the country at the Africa Aquatics Open Water Swimming Training Camp in Zanzibar from September 17th to 21st, 2024.

Led by coach Abel Ddamulira Kyakulumbye, Two females Charlotte Amooti Sanford and Khyati Deshpande plus two males Benjamin Noel Lutaaya and Rukundo Daniel Nuwagaba depart for Zanzibar tomorrow.

The camp is organized by Africa Aquatics to develope open water swimming across Africa.

This is a swimming discipline played in outdoor water bodies like water open oceans, lakes, and rivers unlike the conventional swimming pools competitions.

It will focus on entry level swimmers, preparing them for upcoming international events such as the Africa and World Junior Open water championships.

Athletes will take part in two training sessions daily and two educational lectures on various competition related topics.
