Astra Corporate Sports Network launched, League set to start in March


A new Corporate Sports Entity known as The Corporate Sports Network created on January 13th 2024 was launched on Monday morning at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

Trading and registered as Astra Corporate Sports Network, the entity that was created by team managers of over 30 Corporate companies with an aim of promoting productive Corporate networks by bringing together staff of member companies to participate in various Sports every month.

According to Corporate Sports Network’s First Chairman Mr Simeon Kasumba, the Founder members of the League realized the need for participating Companies to be actively involved in the running of the entity’s affairs going on to say;

“We are excited about the commencement of the league and grateful for companies that have confirmed participation in the 2024 league opener”

“As we continue to be optimistic about more companies joining along the way, I would like to inform you that we are here to ensure that the pertinent needs of the participants are given priority”

“We are accountable and ensuring that the expectations of participating members are met”

The first outing is expected to take place on Sunday 25th March 2024 at Makerere University Business School at 9 am.

These outings will run for the next nine (9) months and games will be held in various venues that will include; Mandela National Stadium (which is expected to open in July), MUBS, Prison Grounds-Luzira, Quality Chemicals Limited-Luzira, Hotel Africana ( for Swimming and Pool) and Kyadondo Rugby Club.

The games will be concluded by a Grand. Dinner and Awards ceremony in December 2024.
