Uganda seeded in pot 2 ahead 2022 FIFA World Cup draws

Uganda has been seeded in the second pot ahead of the qualifying draws for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

In the pot 2, Uganda has been placed with Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa, Guinea, Cape Verde, Gabon, Benin, Zambia, and Congo while Africa’s best-ranked team Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, and DR Congo join the 2019 AFCON champions Algeria in pot 1.

Pot 3 has Madagascar, Mauritania, Libya, Mozambique, Kenya, Central Africa Republic, Zimbabwe, Niger, Nambia and Guinea-Bissau.

And Finally, pot 4 has Malawi, Angola, Togo, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Liberia, and Djibouti.

The draws will be held on January 21st, 2020 at Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo, Egypt.

40 countries will be drafted into 10 groups of 4 teams each with the group winners advancing to the final round. The 10 group winners will be drawn into head-to-head, two-legged ties for one of the five places at the World Cup.

The fixtures to be played in November 2021.
