Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC unveil new coaching staff


Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club unveiled a new coaching staff that will take them ahead into the FUFA Women Super League second round.

The new coaching staff will be headed by Edward Kasozi Ssozi who returns after a few months since he left in 2023.

Kasozi who won the FUFA Women Cup trophy in 2023 with Uganda Martyrs will be assisted by Shafick Mutebi, Andrew Ssetuba, Masembe Umar and former Kampala Queens Goal keeper coach Kawooya Sowedi.

During the unveiling, the Club CEO Freda Ayerango came out to highlight that this is part of the second round préparations;

“We are preparing for the second round, we have unveiled coaches before but it didn’t go well as we expected, today we are here to unveil new coaches” she said

Adding that; “The coaches we have got today are those we have worked with before and they have helped us achieve the great trophy we have in our cabin “

“Coach Edward Kasozi knows this team so well and we believe he will help us achieve our targets and also add more trophies to our cabin”

A jolly Kasozi was so happy having come back home and said his target is to win the title;

“Am so happy to get back home, we are here to make the players better, our target is to win this title despite being 7 points off the table leaders Kawempe Muslim.” Kasozi said

“We were once here and surely can make it happen again so as a team we are gonna fight and be as hostile as possible to win” he concluded

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC will play their next League game on Saturday 17th February 2024 as they take on the table leaders, Kawempe Muslim.

Their top talisman woman Latifah Nakasi announced her readiness to gun down the Kawempe side, going on to say;

“We are happy to have our coach back and ready to fight. I have a lot to say but just come tomorrow I will put it in action !!”
