UFL: Uganda Martyrs University starts title defence with victory over Bugema


Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi started off their title defense with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Bugema University in Nkozi.

Uganda Martyrs who dominated proceedings from the start, got their opening goal in the 35th minutes as Ivan Agamile got to the end of Sanny Kaija’s pass to tap home.

Their second came just immediately after the break after Akbar Ssentongo pounced clinically.

Ssentongo added his second and his side’s third of the game with seven minutes left on the clock after a nicely driven-in corner kick.

Before the game could end, Kimuli Dennis pulled a goal back for Bugema University from the spot to secure their took home at least something.

With this victory, Uganda Martyrs take an early lead in group A that also has Kabale University and University of Kisubi.
