Gagganga Geoffrey Sweeps Pepsi UFL Awards

Geoffrey Gagganga, the talented midfielder from Uganda Christian University, emerged as the big winner at the 2023/24 Pepsi University Football League Awards Gala.

Held at Kati Kati Restaurant on Tuesday evening, the event saw Gagganga clinch the Most Valuable Player award, beating out Obwana John Andrew from Nkumba and Ssentogo Akbar from Uganda Martyrs.

Gagganga’s impressive performance for UCU, where he scored six goals and led the team as captain to a runner-up finish behind Nkumba University, earned him additional accolades. He was named the best midfielder of the season and featured in the Best XI of the season.

Other winners at the gala included Akbar, who took home the Top scorer award for his eight goals, and Lubega Ismail, named the best defender of the season from Nkumba University.

Kabale University’s Muzoora Alleluyah was recognized as the Rookie Player of the season, while Obwana received the goalkeeper of the season award. While Dr. Bbosa Sulaiman, who led Nkumba to their historic first title, was voted coach of the season.
