UFL: SLAU kickstart their campaign with convincing victory


St Lawrence University have kick started their campaign with a bang, winning 3-1 against their visitors Nkumba University on Wednesday at Crown City in Kavule.

Last year’s finalists got their goals through Kembo Osman Arafat, Michael Abura, Innocent Matenga while the 2016 finalists, Nkumba University got their consolation through Kavuma Abbey.

Kembo opened up the SLAU party as early as the 7th minute for Davis Nnono’s grey army with a tap in after a good ball from Aniku Fahad to finish the first half with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Michael Abura did no mistake heading home a Innocent Matenga cross from the right wing to double SLAU’s lead.

Nine minutes later, Matenga turned from assister to goal scorer inorder to seal off the victory with a sweet strike.

Kavuma Abbey pulled back one for Sulaiman Bbosa charges and Nkumba at large to reduce the deficit to two to end it 3-1 at Full time.

St Lawrence are now top of group B with three points and two goals.
