St Lawrence, Nkumba progress to the knock-outs

St. Lawrence University and Nkumba University have progressed to the quarterfinal of the Pepsi University Football League.

This is after both teams secured wins in their respective games played on Saturday afternoon.

Last season’s losing finalists St. Lawrence thumped International University of East Africa ( IUEA) 7-0 in Kavule, while Nkumba University were 2-1 winners away in Gulu.

The two now join MUBS, Uganda Martyrs, Bugema University, Makerere and Kampala University in the knockout stages

MUB who had already progressed to the last 8 beat Islamic University in Uganda ( IUIU ) 2-0 in the other game played on Saturday.

Three other games will be played on Sunday to complete the group stages.

YMCA will host Victoria University, KIU will visit Kumi, while UCU will be away at Busitema.
