UFL: UCU gaffer Ahumuza attributes win to the aggressive start


Mukono based University, Uganda Christian University (UCU) beat Kampala International University a 2-0 defeat at their home to continue their perfect start in the University Football League.

This was their third consecutive win after humbling both Kumi and Busitema University.

UCU started off the game well scored just Five minutes into the game thanks à Isaac Ofoyirwoth Isaac opener and Allan Opio strike 14 minutes later.

With heavy rains showering the face of the earth, some players surely couldn’t play their game due to the surface but the referee couldn’t also stop the game.

The losing side of KIU through their head coach on the day, Geoffrey Akabwai blamed the loss on the poor playing surface and a early mistake.

Despite having the weather not going their way UCU head coach Ahumuza after the game said his side opted for an aggressive start;

”We had meticulously prepared for today’s game. Lacking familarity with KIU’s strategies, we opted for an aggressive start, netting two rapid goals”

UCU remain top of Group D with a maximum 9 points while KIU have 3 as they await to stage a replay in their next fixture as KIU will be the host this time round in Kasanga.
