Turkish Super Lig: Farouk Miya’s Konyaspor falls to Besiktas

Farouk Miya’s Konyaspor Kulübü fell 3-0 at Besiktas in matchday 29 of the Turkish Super Lig at Vodafone Stadium.

Two first-half goals from captain Burak Yilmaz (40) and Abdoulaye Diaby (45) and one goal from Jeremain Lens 7 minutes into the second half gave Besiktas a deserved victory after dominating the game for the most part.

Farouk Miya, who came on in the 61st minute for Omer Ali, made little impact for the team which was defending the game for the entire match. He had a decent game defensively and also involved in two set-pieces for Konyaspor, but all of them were unfruitful.

This is Konyaspor’s second defeat since the Turkish Super Lig resumed having lost 2-1 to Genclerbirligi on Sunday 14th June before drawing 2-2 at home against Sivasspor.

Konyaspor remains 16th, in the drop zone on an 18-team log with 27 points amassed in 29 games while Besiktas remains 5th with 50 points in 29 games.

Konyaspor will return to action on Sunday this week against Rizespor at home as Besiktas welcomes Kayserispor away from home.
