The Annual Nile Special national rugby Sevens Series return

After a long wait, National Rugby Sevens Series dubbed Nile Special sevens Series will eventually start on Saturday 6th August at Kings Park in Bweyogerere.

This will be a two day circuit from 6-7th August 2022 with 16 teams taking part.

The series were slated to happen earlier (Saturday, 9th July) at Legends Grounds in Kampala but was later on postponed to August as the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) has confirmed.

This postponement affected some teams since a large number of their stars are away with the national 7s sides that finished 10th in the ongoing Commonwealth games in Birmingham, England

The Nile Special 7s Series last year were won by the Kobs Rugby in the previous year when they defended their title, on criteria of points difference ahead of rivals Stanbic Black Pirates at Legends Rugby Grounds.

This year’s series was initially set to have seven legs with three upcountry events something that will happen and run for seven weeks as originally set.
