Heathens returned to winning ways with a dominant display in Gulu, winning the Lawii Rwodi 7s to claim the fourth National Rugby Sevens Circuit title of the season.

This came to pass after Heathens conquered the Kyadondo affair in final against Buffaloes 12-07. Before reaching the finals Heathens beat Eagles in the Knockout before dominating Mongers to set up Buffaloes final.

However Buffaloes on the other hand took down Rams and Black Pirates respectively to reach the final.

Heathens responded strongly to their 12–10 defeat to Rams RFC in the Kyadondo 7s final, sweeping through the group stage before powering through the knockouts at Pece War Memorial Stadium.

The Kampala side combined quick ball movement with solid defence, while their experience and pace proved decisive in the crucial moments.

In the final, Heathens dealt well with their opponents’ kicking game, kept possession and made the most of turnovers. Their pressure at the breakdown and accurate conversions helped them secure the title.

With one title from four stops, Heathens have strengthened their position. Black Pirates, Rams and defending champions Walukuba Barbarians are also in the race with the remaining stops approaching.

In the women’s competition, Nile Rapids also claimed their third title in four stops, returning to the top of the standings.

The circuit now takes a two week break before resuming with the Kyabazinga 7s.
