Sixteen-time champions SC Villa have ended KCCA FC’s winning streak in the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

This comes after the Jogoos outclassed the Kasasiro Boys 2-1 in the StarTimes UPL game played at the Bombo Military grounds on Tuesday evening.

The game’s first goal-scoring chance fell to Brian Aheebwa but the striker’s effort went well wide in the 10th minute.

A few minutes later, after a beautiful combination between Herbert Achai and Loro Mazengo, Aheebwa was once again set-up but this time the Villa back-line was excellent and effectively denied the visitors from breaking the deadlock.

From a freekick in the 32nd minute, the Jogoos got the game’s first goal after Nicholas Kabonge capitalised on a poorly headed clearance by Samuel Kato, to send a thunderous strike past KCCA FC goalie Charles Lukwago and into the back the net to give the hosts a slender 1-0 lead at the halftime break.

In the second half, KCCA FC brought on Filbert Obenchan and Charles Lwanga for Mazengo and Sam Ssenyonjo respectively, trying to overturn the game, but it was Villa that doubled their lead across the round of play when Ronald Ssekiganda struck the ball past Lukwago into the bottom left corner after brilliant play by Benson Muhindo.

Brian Aheebwa pulled a goal back for the Kasasiro Boys from the spot in the 87th minute and that was just enough to provide game’s drama.

KCCA FC has now succumbed to their first loss this evening, having won their opening three-game while SC Villa has now returned to winning ways having lost their last game, 2-1 to URA FC.
