Defender Rashid Toha will miss the defending champions, Vipers SC game against Kitara FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday evening at the St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
The towering centre-back has been given compassionate leave by the club, having lost his sister last Saturday morning before the Vipers’ League opener against Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, WAKISSHA.
Besides Toha, Vipers will still be without Abdulkarim Watambala, Livingstone Mulondo, Abraham Ndugwa, Halid Lwaliwa and Milton Kalisa who are still in isolation, having tested positive for COVID-19 before their CAF champions clash with Al Hilal Omdurman.
Allan Kayiwa also remains out, having just resumed training with the team this week after recovering from an injury.
The venoms disappointingly drew their first game of the season 1-all with Wakiso Giants on Saturday and will go into Wednesday’s game hoping to redeem themselves and collect maximum points against an already struggling Kitara FC.
Kitara, on the other hand, are winless in their opening three games of the season, having lost two of them to UPDF and Police and conceded 11 goals in the process.
This will be the first league meeting between the two sides, however, they have at least met before in the Uganda Cup in 2017, where Vipers claimed a 3-1 win in Hoima.
