Royal Giants shoot out Geda Robel to qualify for CAF Pan African Schools Championship


Ugandan side Royal Giants High School have qualified to the the inaugural CAF Pan Africa School’s final.

This is after they defeated Ethiopia’s Geda Roble SS 4-2 via spotkicks in the final of the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers played at the Azam Complex, Kimanzi in Tanzania.

The Royal Giants goalkeeper saved two penalties to ensure the Ugandan school secured qualification to the continental finals in Morocco.

Enock Bagenda, Thomas Ogema, Nasifu Najibu and Jovan Katuramu had converted Royal Giants kicks.

Apart from securing qualification to the finals, Royal Giants are now USD 100,000 rich for emerging champions in CECAFA.

In the girls category, Another Ugandan side, Amus College missed out on qualification after finishing in third place.

The CAF Pan Africa School’s championship will take place in Morocco from April 7th-9th.
