Spain who were 4-0 winners over Ukraine in their last match of the UEFA Nations League take on Switzerland in yet another home game.

They will be aiming to retain top position in Group 4, and are most likely to stick to their attacking style of play against the Rossocrociati.

The hosts are without Real Madrid rightback Dani Carvajal for their two UEFA Nations League qualifiers and Sergi Roberto or Jesus Navas should be given the nod here.

Fabian Ruiz was not able to meet up with the squad after Napoli placed their squad in quarantine following two positive tests leading up to their postponed clash with Juventus at the weekend.

Thiago Alcantara tested positive for coronavirus before Luis Enrique named his squad. Both Thiago and Fabian would likely have started against Switzerland on Saturday.

Rodri and Sergio Busquets are in competition to start at the base of Spain’s midfield three, with Mikel Merino and Dani Ceballos set to play further forward. David de Gea is expected in goal after Kepa started their 0-0 draw with Portugal in midweek.

Xherdan Shaqiri is now available for Switzerland after a second test for coronavirus was confirmed negative while Manuel Akanji is ruled out with the virus, however. Renato Steffen is injured.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw the last time they faced off against each other, back in 2018, with Alvaro Odriozola and Ricardo Rodriguez scoring the goals.

Spain are clear favourites heading into this meeting, though they are not the revered side they once were.

We are expecting a low scoring game.

In the other game, Ukraine are without so many players due to COVID-19 and injuries. They were bettered 7-1 by France in midweek and had earlier on during the last international break lost 5-0 to Spain.

This is not any good moment for them and Germany should take full advantage of the situation.
