Confirmed: Traguil, KCCA FC part ways

Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) and their Head Coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil have parted ways, it’s confirmed.

This was confirmed by the club on Tuesday evening via a statement released on their social media platforms.

“KCCA FC and Head Coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil have today, Tuesday 24th October 2023 mutually parted ways with immediate effect ” part of the statement released read.

According to the Lugogo based club, the two parties decided to part ways as Sergio had a family issue which required his immediate attention.

“Sergio has a family issue that requires his immediate attention and thus both parties have agreed to mutually part ways.”

“Assistant Manager, Luis Manuel Correira Guerreiro also leaves the club. The Club thanks the duo for their services and wishes them well in their future endeavors.”

The decision to part ways was also influenced by KCCA’s worst start to the Uganda Premier League season where they have lost all their opening four games to BUL FC (1-0), Maroons FC (2-1), Express FC (2-1) and Kitara FC(3-1) last Friday.

It should be noted that Traguil signed as KCCA head coach in June on a two-year employment contract.

Former SC Villa Head Coach and Traguil’s assistant Jackson Magera Kaddu will now take charge of the Kasasiro Boys on interim basis with immediate effect.

KCCA next game will be against NEC FC at MTN Omondi Stadium on Thursday evening.
