Iteen International spreads it’s wings to Rwanda

Iteen International non-profit organization has spread its wings outside Uganda by opening up an academy in Rwanda.

This is a huge milestone for the non-profit organization which was founded in 2014 by a businessman called Jimmy Wasswa. To start up this organization, Jimmy was inspired by YWCA-YMCA, a non-government development organization that brings together youths in Mombasa, Kenya.

The Academy, which is now fully operational, is located in Gasabo, a suburb in Kigali, Rwanda.

It currently has 28 children in three under age groups ( U10, U13 and U15).

Iteen International now has academies in two countries. Their first is in Uganda and was started in August 2019. Since then, it has moved incredible strides to become one of the best in Uganda by providing a pathway to some ‘Ghetto kids’ around the Kampala area.

According to the academy administrator and coach Jimmy, who likes to dream big, he wants to set up academies all over East Africa in just three years.

“Too much cause I’m seeing how Iteen is growing big and hoping to be in all East African countries in two three years” Wasswa says.
