Pepsi UFL: Gulu University edges Bugema to justify consistent bad start

Bugema University replicates last season’s start in opener against Gulu University on Sunday in Gulu City. 

In the previous Edition, Bugema lost thei opening fixture 3-1 against Uganda Martyrs University in Nkozi and the difference this time is the scoreline.

However on the game, Gulu managed to edge the game 1-0 and the only goal that won the day was scored by Ssengendo Derrick Senoga as early as 2 seconds

This is deemed to be the game the fastest this season so far and it earns Gulu University a good start to the campaign.

Gulu University Captain, Lacwech Joel after the game offered his teammates their flowers;

“I am very proud of these boys, scoring in the first minute and defending for the rest of the 89 minutes.”

“It’s a sign of great attitude from the boys and I am very proud of them.” He added

Last season we had a lot of young players, they were still getting the test of this league but they have gained that experience and I am confident that this time we shall make it out of the group. ” He concluded

This win takes Gulu top of group D with three points as they patiently wait for results from Kampala University and the Kampala International University fixture.

The league will continue on Tuesday when Kabale University will be hosting YMCA in Kabale.
