Nile special 7’s: Platinum Heathens to host next circuit at Kyadondo

Kyadondo Rugby 7’s is here with lots of eagerness as the Nile Special 7s series returns at the Kyadondo Rugby Club on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August.

Addressing the media on Monday at the establishment’s club house, Brian Tabaruka who is the Kyadondo Rugby Club chairman said;

“We believe that this will be the biggest and the best circuit of the season. We are looking forward to creating a fun filled weekend with all our partners on board.”

“We are going to have a carnival atmosphere filled with rugby action, entertainment, food, drinks and the like,” he concluded

Nile Special who are the 7s series official sponsor say that Kyadondo is their home and this weekend’s outing will further strengthen the bond betwixt the two parties.

The National Trade Marketing, Events and Assets Manager at Nile Breweries Limited Douglas Karema believes that the Kyadondo 7s will be successful one and they are glad to be on board;

In addition to the rugby everyone at Kyadondo this weekend will enjoy free, open and secure internet (WiFi) courtesy of Sprint UG who have come on board to sponspor the Kyadondo 7s.

On board, Kyadondo Rugby Club’s
medical support service partners AAR Healthcare will also be on ground to give their services who the public.

At the top, Kobs lead the series with 77 points, three ahead of Pirates, Heathens are third with 62 points while title holders Hippos are still fourth now with 58 points, just four ahead of fifth placed Buffaloes.

With addition of from hosting the fifth event of the series, Kyadondo will also be running it’s KyadondoIsHome campaign, a celebration of the club’s profound impact on the rugby community and its wider influence on the lives of various individuals over the years. 

The campaign will aim to amplify the club’s role as a home for rugby enthusiasts and a nurturing ground for the rugby community in Uganda, while showcasing its profound impact beyond rugby.

On the women’s side, a dominant Black Pearls who are in charge as they lead the table with 83 points will put their focus on maintaining the top position against Avengers and Thunderbirds who are second and thirds with 77 points and 72 points respectively.
