Masaza Cup: Omirambe nets brace as Busujju defeats Buvuma


Two second half goals by Brian Omirambe and one from Ivan Irinimbabazi were enough for Busujju to defeat Buvuma 3-1 in the 2020 Masaza Cup Bulange group game played at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

There was nothing much to report in the first half else the penalty save by Kalema but the game went into the break with goal-less scoreline.

Busujju then got the game openers immediately after the break after Brian Omirambe’s struck the ball so powerfully past John Kalema in Buvuma’s goal and into the back of the net.

Busujju doubled their lead after a well driven Isaac Kiberu’s cross found Irinimbabazi in the box, the latter rose high to head home the second.

Omirambe got his second and Busujju’s third of the game in the 68th minute after  he dribbled past the Buvuma goalie Kalema to carefully to place the ball into an empty net.

Bruno Bunyaga pulled a goal back for Buvuma in the 83rd minutes after substitute Joseph Kakembo’s cross but it was enough to cause late drama.

With today’s win, Busujju now move to second place in the Bulange group, level on points with leaders Busiro on seven points.

Busiro will play Buwekula later on today in the last game in the Bulange group.
