Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry says his team is moving in the right direction ahead of the upcoming CHAN tournament in Cameroon.
McKinstry made this revelation after the Cranes defeated Micho’s Zambia 2-0 in their second game of the Pre-CHAN tournament in Yaounde, Cameroon on Monday evening.
“I was pleased with the guys and their application. Zambia caused us more problems than Cameroon, but my players’ resilence and organization didn’t let them in,” McKnistry told FUFA Media team before adding;
“So as the coaching staff, we are pleased with the two games and this has given us bad decisions to make as every member of the squad has turned up very well for those two games.”
“It’s good to have those difficult decisions to make but we are in a very good position now, although we still have work to do to prepare for Chan but We are moving in the right direction.”
Uganda will return to action on Thursday evening against Niger in their last build up game before the CHAN tournament which is set to get underway on January 16th.
Uganda is drawn in group C alongside Morocco, Rwanda and Togo.
