Masaza Cup: Buddu return to winning ways as Gomba, Bulemeezi disappointingly lose again

The Buganda Masaza Cup’s second matchday saw thrilling encounters across various playgrounds.

In the Muganzirwaza group, Ssingo made a statement with a 4-0 thrashing of record winners Gomba, with Joseph Ssewali scoring twice and Charles Batiibwe and Shaban Kayondo adding one each.

Buwekula’s struggles continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Kooki. Kyaggwe, however, secured a 2-1 victory over Mawogola, with Hassan Ssentongo and Yusuf Mukwana scoring for Kyaggwe and Otti Opio Alex netting for Mawogola.

In the Bulange group, Buddu edge Kyaddondo 1-0, courtesy of Joseph Kayondo’s penalty.

Bugerere stunned holders Bulemeezi 3-1, with Wamala Henry, Simon Katumba, and Ssendi Tonny scoring for Bugerere and Masembe George scoring for Bulemeezi.

Buluuli continued their impressive form with a 2-1 win over Butambala, with Ssewanyana Robert and Opar Jacob scoring for Buluuli and Isma Kayondo finding a consolation for Butambala.

In the Masengere group, Mawokota were held to a 1-1 draw by Busiro, with Michael Abura scoring for Mawokota and Conrad Ssenjogera equalizing for Busiro.

Ssese and Buvuma played out a 1-1 stalemate, with Muhammad Sabil scoring for Ssese and Katamba Brian Henry netting for Buvuma.

Busujju secured their second consecutive win, defeating Kabula 3-1, with Peter Muduru, Collins Ssenyonga, and Lauben Lubwama scoring for Busujju and Manul Irival finding a consolation for Kabula.
