Ikwaput joins FUFA Women Super League Champions

After a beautiful season in the Cyprus top flight league Fazila Ikwaput has returned home and finalised her move to Kampala Queens.

The pacy forward has joined the Ugandan giants on a two year deal.

Ikwaput who has been on the radar of a couple of African teams like Simba Queens and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be looked at to help the team to qualify for the CAF Women Champions League.

In Omonia Nicosia, he has managed a total of 19 goals in 18 matches across all competitions in Cyprus.

What will her coming to Kampala Queens mean?

1st- As a team

Having been the joint top scorer with Hassifah Nassuna in the 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League with Lady Doves WFC and will hope to maintain her scoring form.

This will help the team strengthen their forward line for the CECAFA region tournament that will help them qualify for the 2023/24 CAF Women Champions League.

2nd- In the starting Lineup.

There is going to be a lot of headache selection for head coach Hamza Lutalo most especially with the number of forwards at the club who include this season’s top scorer Resty Nanziri, Elizabeth Nakigozi, Grace Aluka and many others.

This is an exciting thought at the moment which will be one to witness when the CAF WCL qualifiers return. Away from that perspective this will add numbers in team rotation.
