Former Vipers SC, Busoga United midfielder Ibrahim Kayiwa has returned to the Express FC from relegated side Tooro United.
The 25-year-old rejoined the club as a free agent after terminating his contract with Tooro United FC at the end of last season, becoming the 13th signing for Wasswa Bbsosa during the on-going transfer window.
The Red Eagles have confirmed the arrival of the attacking midfielder who will remain at the club for the next two years via their website.
“Creative midfielder Ibrahim Kayiwa is back at Express,” the club confirmed on their official website.
Speaking during his unveiling, Kayiwa expressed delight at being back at the club referring to Wankulukuku side as the ‘home’ where he is targeting to win titles.
“I am glad to be back at Express FC. For me this has always been home” he told the club’s media in his first interview.
“And just like all my other teammates, the target is to chase silverware and we can only achieve that by working hard,” he added.
Kayiwa first played for Express FC in 2014, scoring seven goals and assisting 10 times before moving on to join Vipers SC in 2018 and then Busoga United (Kirinya Jinja SS) in 2019.
He becomes the fifth player to join the Red Eagles from Tooro United after the club also snapped up Charles Musiige, John Byamukama, Godfrey Lwesibawa, and goalkeeper Cryspus Kusiima.
Express ended the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL in ninth place and are hoping the new signings will help the club rejuvenate its quest for glory.
